Automatic gantry crane grabbing, intelligent large hopper loading (or crawler bucket wheel loader loading), unmanned dump truck transfer, stacker stacking...... Recently, at the production site of Xiaogangchi Wharf in Qianwan Port Area, Qingdao Port, Shandong Port, five kinds of automation equipment cooperated with each other to successfully complete the unmanned operation of the whole process of goods from unloading, loading, transshipment and stacking.

Last week, Shandong Port Qingdao Port "Summer Practice" labor research was carried out at the grassroots level, Shandong Port Qingdao Port Qiangang Company took this opportunity to work together to solve the problem, and successfully completed the "automatic door crane + intelligent large hopper + unmanned dump truck + stacker" "automatic door crane + crawler bucket wheel loader + unmanned dump truck + stacker" two dry bulk horizontal transportation modes of the whole process of unmanned heavy-duty test.

This is a powerful measure for Shandong Port Qingdao Port to develop new quality productivity according to local conditions, implement the tasks of the group company's "comprehensive breakthrough year", and enhance the core competitive advantage, adding new impetus to the construction of dry bulk smart terminals, and providing a reference scheme for the horizontal transportation of dry bulk terminals for the port industry.

"Different from other professional terminals, Xiaogangchi Terminal is a traditional general wharf, which cannot be unloaded by belt process for all goods, and some goods need to be unloaded to the front site of the wharf through a gantry crane, and then loaded onto a dump truck by a loader, and then transferred by a dump truck. Therefore, we are fully committed to developing a smarter and greener unmanned operation mode for the whole process of horizontal dry bulk transportation, so as to help the high-quality development of Shandong port. Zhang Jie, deputy manager of Qiangang Company, introduced.

In the automation control center of Qiangang Company's dry bulk smart terminal, Bai Huailiang, a driver in a neat uniform, stared at the curved screen and accurately controlled the dump truck. "Compared to the previous operation mode, I have moved from a noisy and bumpy outdoor to a modern control center, with a better environment, lower intensity and more guaranteed operation efficiency." Bai Huailiang said.

Since the beginning of this year, the "Weili Innovation Team" of Qiangang Company has actively studied the key technologies of unmanned horizontal transportation in the whole process of dry bulk terminals, and has successively developed unmanned dump truck driving technology, crawler bucket wheel loader, intelligent large hopper, and the introduction of stackers. It is the first in the industry to realize a new unmanned mode of horizontal transportation operation in the dry bulk terminal.

In the process of automation transformation and application of unmanned dump trucks, the "Weili Innovation Team" has applied a number of technologies such as lidar, Beidou positioning, inertial navigation and deep learning. "We have installed six cameras on each dump truck to monitor the vehicle's operating status in an all-round way, ensuring that the driver is as 'immersive' as if he was on site during remote monitoring, and can see the real-time road conditions." Sun Lipeng, a member of the team and the technical director of the flow machine team, said.

"Weili innovation team" also applied L4 unmanned driving technology on unmanned dump trucks, developed and established a vehicle management system, and realized the automatic planning of transportation routes of unmanned dump trucks through the docking with the unmanned horizontal transportation equipment scheduling system, and developed an intelligent large hopper automatic opening and closing system.

"We have developed a horizontal transportation equipment scheduling system to realize the intelligent docking of unmanned dump trucks and large hoppers, guide vehicle movements, control large hopper bin door opening and closing and a series of actions, and the loading time of each vehicle is less than 2 minutes, which is more than 50% higher than the loading efficiency of the loader." Li Lei, a member of the team and deputy captain of the flow team, introduced.

The unmanned dump truck is also equipped with a data and vehicle management system, which can realize real-time return of audio and video data, autonomous driving data, chassis data and operation data. The data information can be accurately transmitted to the remote control console, and the operator can enter the monitoring system anytime and anywhere, grasp the operation status of the equipment, and make the safety control more intelligent and reliable.

In the next step, Shandong Port Qingdao Port Qiangang Company will continue to optimize the unmanned operation process of the whole process, continuously improve the efficiency of horizontal transportation operations, completely realize the separation of man and machine, ensure the safety of personnel operations, further accelerate the process of automation and intelligence, improve the operation efficiency of dry bulk terminals, and contribute to the "three major constructions" of Shandong Port.
